The 1,800W daylight spotlight M18 combines the innovative design of the True Blue series with the optical system of the ARRIMAX—an awardee of the "Scientific and Engineering Award" by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The result is an extremely powerful spotlight that provides approximately 70% more light than a 1,200W spotlight with a parabolic reflector of the same size. The M18 focuses between 15° and 58° and, like all lights in the M-Series, does not require supplementary lenses. The patented Cross-Cooling system of the True Blue series is also effective in the M-Series, enabling the use of 1,800W lamps within the compact M18 housing. Extreme tilt angles are no problem for the M18, as it keeps the temperature low around sensitive electronic components. Additionally, the M18 can be operated with 1,200W lamps and any ballasts that support this power class. Together with ARRI's electronic ballasts, the M18 delivers maximum light output without compromising color rendering quality.
The integrated CCL function (Compensation of Cable Losses) compensates for losses over long cable distances of up to 100 meters. The accessory portfolio of the ARRISUN 12 and the AS 18 can be utilized for the M18, thanks to the same diameter accessory mount. The M18 also uses the proven brake system from the True Blue series. The stainless steel disc brake reliably holds the spotlight in position, even when using heavy accessories like Chimera Lightbanks.
As an alternative to a separate frame with fabric, the frost disc provides nearly perfect homogeneity of the light field. When specific beam characteristics are required, the use of supplementary lenses may be beneficial. ARRI offers a conversion kit consisting of a PAR reflector and matching claws for this purpose.
With lenses for the ARRISUN 12 or AS 18, beam angles between 6° and 65° can be achieved. Easy access to the interior of the fixture makes maintenance and repairs quicker and easier.
The M18 meets the requirements of protection class IP23, making it well-suited for outdoor use. The 1,800W power output of the M18 facilitates easy operation in environments without generators. As the maximum current load is 13A (230V~) or 20A (120V~), the spotlight can be operated on standard household outlets worldwide.
