The Micro Lens Diffusion softens the light with very little loss (about 8%, less than one eighth of a stop). This is achieved via a hexagonal lenslet array on one side, which spreads the beam approximately 10°. Thus the combination of 60° Optic and 10° Micro Lens Diffusion results in an approximately 70° beam angle (30°+10°= 40°). It is made of unbreakable polycarbonate, and fastened to the slot on the front of the fixture.
